Porcelain benchtops began appearing in the Australian market significantly before the 2024 engineered stone ban, with their popularity growing as a "new" product in recent years and even today people sometimes refer to it as "stone" . However, porcelain is made of clay, which is fired at very high temperatures to create the material. It'is durable once installed but require special skills when manipulated. Porcelain looks very festive due to its outstanding gloss!
Extremely stain-resistant, heat-resistant and scratch-resistant but much thinner (6 or 12mm) and lighter than stone.
Can be installed over existing benchtops to reduce costs.
Standard slab sizes are 3200 x 1600

With porcelain you can have beautiful woodgrain matt finish! Though we can install 20 or 40mm thick benchtop, with porcelain there is an option of a slim 12mm benchtop flowing up the wall ( 6mm thiskness on the wall is a competitive alternative to tiles or glass).
